Only front Brembo breaks?

Hi

Today, I changed my breaks to Brembo breaks. But I only got two new front Brembo breaks. The rear ones are very small and it looks ridiculous. Is it possible to change also the rear breaks? Also Brembo breaks? (I love the breaks of the Porsche Cayenne)

Thanks

Yes it is possible a few companies do the conversion, approx cost is £2500 for both front and rear uprated disks and pads, try speaking to REVERE LONDON or maybe ANGEL or McBunny will come and help you!

Standard TDv8 and S/C seem to find having just front Brembos isn't any problem at all ......................... for such heavy cars they stop amazingly quickly and an awful lot faster than many "sports" cars 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I would be a little concerned about altering the brake balance with just doing this.

Do the TDV8 and S/C only have front Brembos?

Seems a strange OEM spec, why didn't LR fit them all round? Shocked

I wouldn't bother retro fitting these on my TDV6, I'll just wait until I replace it and spec them then. But only because I don't like messing too much with a motor - wheels and cosmetic stuff is my limit.

As after two great years with the TDV6, when it's time to replace I will be upgrading engine/spec anyway.

Been lucky enough (or not) to have a TDV8 as a Loan car for three weeks, and was very impressed. Thumbs Up

Cheers Tim,

went outside to check - the things you do for the forum! Thumbs Up

Puzzled why LR didn't fit all round.

Reminds me of my childhood when I had a knackered Raleigh Chopper. Only had a front brake and no back brake, went over the handle bars on numerous occassions. Your face is a great landing pad! Laughing

Still at least the RRS wheels are the same size front and back unlike the Chopper. Whistle

and the gear stick in the RRS is unlikely to ruin your prospects unlike the Raleigh Choppers T shaped shifter on the crossbar 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Had forgotten about the gearshift, that brought back memories and tears to the eyes.

Reminded me that I had mine changed for a wooden gear knob wih chequered flags motif, a la aftermarket Mk I Capri. Laughing

Must have been after an unfortunate incident. Modding wheels at 10 years old, that's where I got it from.

Now the RRS shiny gearknob on a Chopper, that's an idea! Whistle

I never owned a Chopper, had to make do with a Hercules Jeep - but I had a friend who had one which was not with him long before it got nicked from the school playground during lessons one day! Mine was passed down to my younger brothers when I was old enough to drive, now my youngest brother's kids have it but it has been rebuilt and repainted in the meantime (and after I attacked it with pots of Humbrol paint used for apinting Airfix models........!) They love it - I doubt my Titanium frame/carbonfibre shocks Marin FXR will last as long, that old bike is getting on for 43 years old now! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Hmmm, security was an issue back in those days.

My Chopper had been passed down and around a few times also, things were built to last in those days.

I'm sounding old again. Happy Days though Thumbs Up

There are no gears on it (never were) so all it needs is a wash, chain lube and brake check, it's built like a brick whatsit so can go the distance! And in these days of retro it's now a very Cool Cool bike, especially the one my sister had that was a step through, it now has a nice wicker basket on the front and the horrid plastic saddle bag thing that it came with has long since been consigned to the rubbish bin! And the frames are so heavy nobody is going to walk off with them, the saddles need a proper toolkit to remove them so not easily pinched and there are no drop out forks so wheels cannot be pinched either - who says bike tech has advanced over the years. I think the only hitech bit on any of the bikes is my neice has a suspension seat post and that's it! The bikes are now out in OZ gracing the streets of the Sydney suburbs! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
