"Full service" at £269 is certainly well priced.

Hmmm, might not turn out to be so well-priced if it's the first RRS they've ever seen and "service" it with an Argos toolkit and 'Fix-em-All" diagnostic module off eBay while you go to work on the bus! Sad

True enough, but given their circumstances they'd be fools to make a bad job of a car - they need to be building their rep not destroying it.

Surely every new start "garage" faces this crediblity problem - even such esteemed companies as JE and Overfinch will have had this problem (and some still wouldn't trust either with their cars for the reason that they felt they didn't get the standard of service they expected) ........................................... and lets face it there are many long established Land Rover dealers who's service dept STILL have the problem. Establishing a good reputation is not something that happens overnight, but a bad reputation can be gained on day one of a garage agent starting up. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

i saw dragons den and what they were saying is that they would be using already operating garages and putting a commision on top of their labour rate, the interesting thing was they said that manufacturers warranty
would not be affected.they must be relying on garages that operate with a labour rate of £40 or less. im not sure wheather i would want to trustv my car to one of these mainly because of what come back you would have if theres a dispute

If you look at the service details it appears there are a few items that have an asterix denoting extra cost (spark plugs, special oil). Entirely possible that the final bill will be higher than what you might have expected. Depending on how much you might save is it worth losing the dealer stamp in the service book ?

That is my point, what is the dealers stamp worth over 3 years, ive not seen anybody actually put it into a monetary value that will enable a comparison against savings from non Land Rover servicing, i think it will be more in favour for non dealer servicing, ie sale value of a 3 year old HSE TDV6 FSH against same with non dealer FSH against value saved at servicng costs, not saying i want to do it but would be interested in the sums.

More than a monetary value I think it is a sellability (is that a word ?) issue. Personally speaking I would be more inclined to buy a top end car with a full dealer history over one with independent stamps.

I think most people would agree, but there are plenty of indies (can't comment on these new guys of course) which are staffed by ex-dealer techs. You pays your money, you takes your choice.
