Wokkaman, go ask a rigger why it is used in all aircraft tyres this will give you the answer and yes it will make a difference to wear, temprature and handling as well as maintaining pressure, also if it was a load of rubbish why is it used in most motor racing sports including F1 Thumbs Up

Spot on! Here in OZ at specialty tyre dealers they offer nitrogen as a "bonus" for the above reasons - but for me I get nitrogen so they give me the special red tyre valve caps as well.
