Wokkaman, go ask a rigger why it is used in all aircraft tyres this will give you the answer and yes it will make a difference to wear, temprature and handling as well as maintaining pressure, also if it was a load of rubbish why is it used in most motor racing sports including F1

I have not noticed any diffrence in tire wear but for the pressue it works well.
