2007 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black

Hi Gary

The most important thing is how carefully you wash it as this is the thing that causes swirls etc. My normal wash routine is:
1 Wheels done with ValetPro Bilberry acid free wheel cleaner and a variety of brushes. Pressure rinsed clean
2 Prerinse car with pressure washer or snowfoam & lance if it's really dirty
3 Wash using two bucket method (google it). Meguiars gold class shampoo and a lambswool mitt.
4 Rinse with open ended hose
5 Dry using Sonus drying towel
6 Wipe down with Swissvax quick finish or Meguiars Last Touch and a soft microfibre.
7 Wheels sealed with Swissvax Autobahn.
8 Tyres dressed with Swissvax Pneu

Once a month I probably top up the wax. Personal choice through the summer is Swissvax Best of Show. Apply with foam application, cure for 20 mins and buff off.

Best advice I can give you is ditch any form of sponge and chamois. Get yourself a decent mitt, and a proper drying towel and treat it with care. That way you should at least minimise any future damage.
www.cleanyourcar.co.uk have always been a good internet dealer. Swissvax stuff has to come direct from www.swissvax.co.uk

Hope that helps
Chris

Patting the car dry with a drying towel can be also good to reduces swirls

The detailer will give you plenty of advice on techniques if your there too Thumbs Up

Thanks npinks. Good point on patting. Always helps minimise swirls. I recently re-detailed mine with Meguiars #205 via rotary polisher. Applied one coat of Chemical Guys Wet mirror finish, two coats of Jetseal 109 and 2 coats of Best of Show..... I'm a bit of a detailing junkie

Nice npinks. Good combo there.
Just got some Poorboys Black Hole glaze on order to try when things are next due.

Meanwhile, let hope Garythebong gets it sorted. He'll come back to this thread and wonder what the heck he's let himself in for! Thumbs Up

Gary,

My apologies for not getting back to you, but I never had a message on my phone that I can recall.

I hope you get it sorted to your satisfaction. I've had to do a lot of repair work after dealer wash monkeys think they are doing you a favour. Even on my own D3 after stating strongly not to touch it.

As mentioned above iain at finer details is in your area and is a top chap Thumbs Up Need detailing or cleaning products, drop me a pm for forum discount prices.

If you dont want to clean it yourself, give me a shout for a quote on your detailing requirements. From a simple valet to machine polishing to remove bramble rash and swirl marks.

here is a link to mine. I did it myself and TBH its not that hard to do and if u do it yourself then you will be able to keep it looking like new. if u have an questions feel free to ask.

the only difference now is that I have changed to a Zaino sealent that allows the metal flake to become more prominant and topped with Zymol Vintage for that extra added bling.

Owing to the distance between you it might be hard for sponsors JKP Detail to fit you in, but he is the only one to say yes or no to that one Thumbs Up

Been a regular reader on DW I think they all have there own merits, I would suggest enquiring with each of them and seeing which your most comfortable with after all your the one paying Very Happy

Didn't JKP would come all the way to kent without having to charge massive travelling expenses Big Cry Just hoped that someone down this way may have used one of them or someone else. Its alway good to see or hear about others experiences good or bad.

Fingers crossed Wink TDV8 now with extra grin factor thanks to Alive Tunning: Gone but not forgotten
