Still looking for my perfect vehicle MAYBE Smile

did you guys with the suspension problem manage to get it sorted by LR, just worries me slighty that even with cars with service history and being able to test drive one, i won't be able to tell if the work has been done?

Im sure you agree it's a lot of money to fork out for a car that has a problem that at the mo cannot be fixed Shocked

Depends on whom you speak too. Personally, the issue has never been fixed, just the noise reduced, albeit temporary. To this day, it still knocks like hell, strangely not on the road types it used too Big Cry Big Cry

LR has somewhat relaxed their stance on this issue, but again depends on whom you speak too. One day its a characteristic, next its a known issue that is being investigated and will be fixed. Whatever the hype, the customer base and this forum will still tell you that issues do still exist.

I think to summarise, the issue falls into 3 categories:

1. If you have never had it, you have been very, very lucky. Evil or Very Mad
2a. If you have, you either have been lucky and the severity of the issue enabled a complete fix of sorts. Evil or Very Mad
2b. If you have, as I have, been unlucky to get one that cannot be 100% fixed for whatever reason (they all come from the same line) you are effectively lumbered. To date, I have had more bushes than Jack Nicholson, new struts, new ARC, new stabilser bars - connected and unconnected and still it knocks. Big Cry Big Cry

I have resigned myself to the fact that it will always knock, strangely though, aside from this I still love the vehicle to bits.

Would I buy another?? Well not of that variant, lest us see what the revised one brings over a 2 day test drive. No way would I pay out for another 3 years of misery..........if it still knocks, Big Daddy is the way forward. Thumbs Up L322 Big Daddy SUPERCHARGED 5.0 Autobiography - Here & Now!

I don't think it is year specific, as far as I know the design (or lack off) has remained until now. It seems 2006 and 2007 cars from the last mass survey are mostly affected....saying that, I thoroughly recommended the RRS to a colleague at work.....he went out and bought a brand new 2008 and within 4 months was having the same issue Big Cry

It is mainly on ARC based vehicles.......other noises can happen I believe on non-ARC vehicles, but this is a different noise and issue.

If you are serious about buying one, test drive it and try and find an uneven road / track on the test route.
