Howling rear nearside wheel

Drove over a recently resurfaced (with all weather granite chippings) road today and since I have had a squeeking rear nearside wheel.................... I only get the squeeking when I go round a left hand bend. I hope it's just a small stone in the brake caliper and not a wheel bearing on the way out. I haven't removed the wheel to look but how do I clear it without dismantling the brake caliper? The brake disc was VERY hot when I touched it after I had got home and parked up. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

You could always try a jet wash if you haven't already. Otherwise it will probably be a csae of getting the wheel off and seeing what you can see.

Thanks Steve, we have a tropical downpour at the moment so it's on the job list for tomorrow! At least all the crud that got plastered over it today has been rinsed off now! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Tim, I had a similar problem last year and thought it must be a stone or something stuck in the brakes but I couldn't get rid of it! When the car went in for some work at the dealer I mentioned it and they were able to fix it. I seem to remember it was something to do with lubrication having dried out on a ball joint or something like that. Sorry can't be more specific but I really cant remember exactly what they said, It hasn't returned though, so whatever they did was obviously the right resolution. 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black
