acceleration delay from standstill

my rrsport tdv8 auto 08.... from standstill at a junction when i floor the accelerator there is a pause until the engine reacts ... allmost to the point of bottleing it if im joining a busy road .. my dealer says this is a characteristic ... i driven a friends rr which is identical to mine coz we bought em at the same time and his doesnt do it .... any thoughts ..... regards john up the mariners

Keep it in sport mode or use command shift, should be better. If not, then you could have a problem.

seriously doesnt sound right, take it too a different stealer and get it checked over....

I have an 09 model and the pickup is ridiculously slow from a standing start. Its just common with diesels without the blower spinning at low revs. WINNER - 2009 Best Newcomer Award

Switching the DSC off can help and putting it in Sand Mode on the terrain settings cuts the lag also.

same here.

Full throttle from standstill is a pain (turbo lag at its maximum). 2009 Range Rover Sport 2.7 TDV6 SE, Alaska White, Almond leather, tinted windows, active rear diff, tow pack, HiICE, full spare: gone and already missed

No only joking i believe there are a few techinical bulletins in regards to this. A software upgrade maybe required. Trip to the.............wait for it............ DEALER at the first instance.

I would think that SP's suggestion is a rapid route to some very severe gearbox problems - it's OK to do that if your name is Clarkson/May or Hammond (well maybe not Capt Slow!) as you don't have to pay for the gearbox repairs incurred after a test track session. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Push the gear stick to the left before you come to a standstill at a junction and this should improve things for you Thumbs Up TDV6 - gone
