2009 Range Rover Sport 4.4 V8 HSE Santorini Black

For Very Annoyed

Hi, Can you tell me if fuses are same for 2007 - 2009? I want to put constant power to my 12 volt and have the connecting wire and spades ready to go but there is s different symbol in the owners manual for that big fuse and just want to make sure before I switch. Thx! Mike mike murphy

I don't quite understand what you're doing but I'm not "Very Annoyed"!

Anyway, this is an extract from your 2009 manual on the fuses

and this shows the fuses from the 2007 manual ...

just compare them and hopefully it'll help Malaysia Boleh!

Got it figured out. The fuse comes out and a double spade buss makes the rear and center gigar lighters
constant 12 volt so phones/ipods etc came remain charging after ignition is switched off. mike murphy

But haven't you then removed the fuse protection from the circuit ?

I was following the diagram that was posted in "Tips and Tricks" on "Constant 12 Volt Power" which shows
before and after pics with buss installed. Did I harm the fuse protection by doing this? I am not much on auto
electronics but thought having constant power would be a great idea but I do not want to risk damaging anything. Thanks for your notice and your thoughts would be greatly appreciated!! mike murphy

My comment above was from reading the line …….....

Which I interpreted (incorrectly) to mean that you somehow replaced a fuse with a bridging link. Which would mean you removed the fuse protection for the circuit.

But the setup shown in the “Constant 12 Volt Power” thread is merely removing the relay from the circuit, or in effect removing the switch from the circuit. Once you use cable & spade connectors of the correct rating, you’ll have no bother at all. Other than risking running your battery flat if you leave stuff on for too long.

Sorry if I rang your alarm bells, it’s just when I read of a fuse being bridged out I get concerned. But in this case all is well
