Yes, any of those sticky stuff removers should work - you can get various brands from your local hardware store. Some of the hardcore cleaning types on here might be able to suggest a particular brand, so sit tight |

White Spirit on a cloth, gently rubbed on it will also work BUT don't use turps or paint remover! T-Cut for metallic paint might also remove it. Sounds like etching on the paint. Without actually seeing it or a picture of it, it is hard to diagnose.
