I have just had my RRS TDi V6 in for its 60k service and I am told they changed the brake fluid, can anyone tell me the method used to drain the old fluid out ie do they open a bleed nipple on a brake caliper or do they suck it out from the fluid reservoir ??????

I just want to see if it has been done, I have good reason for thinking it has not. Michael

They SHOULD have bled new fluid in right the way through the system, from the reservoir to the bleed nipples on all the calipers. What makes you suspicious that they didn't BTW ? RRS TDV8 Buck Blue (no, not now in my dreams). ..........D3 TDclankety clankV6 ............BMW 318i

Yes, I think they drain the old fluid via each brake caliper bleed screw until all the old fluid is drained out.
I think its called "Brake System Bleeding". Malaysia Boleh!

Its a bit of a long story so won't bore you with details but my car came back from a 60k service with the fluid change ticked in the service book and as I have my own ramp I put my car on it and none of the caliper bleed nipples have any sign of being used for a very long time and as I have had problems with this dealer before I was not surprised, just disappointed again.

I am now concerned about what else did they not do!

Can anyone tell me where the engine oil filter is in plain english as I would like to have a look at that but cannot find it. Michael

The filter itself is under the intercooler cover, the drain plug (if you want to check that too) is fairly obviously under the sump guard plate.
