Sounds great, my neighbour has one and every morning i wake to hear him wailing off down the road in it!
SMG gearbox may be a Censored to replace later on in life.. and expensive! servicing and tyres will cost a packet, and it has a rather big drinking problem.. but apart from these minor issues they are great! lot of car for the money.. who's going to buy a used M3 when these are knocking around!

It's obviously expensive to run and service, but then you don't get into owning something like that on a budget. Brilliant piece of kit - everyone should own an M car at some point in their lives if you ask me. I rue the day my M3 went. What did I swap it for? Oh... the RRS Laughing

I took an M6 on The Rabbit Run 2008 (poor man's Gumball) and covered 2,000 miles across France, Switzerland and back again in 2 days. There were lots of similar spec'd cars, however eneryone (inc an SLR owner) complimented us on our choice due to the balance of performance, comfort, practicality, reliability and stealthyness!! Whistle

It was absoloutely faultless to be fair. My only complaints would be that the i-Drive was a little confusing and that the sat-nav was quite basic.

The one we had was a 55 plate with 25,000 miles which was sold soon after for £32k (but this was back in May 2008).

Seriously MAW, there's no comparison between the nav on the M6 and the RRS. The RRS nav is clearer, quicker, more detailed and more adaptive.

It's like an ZX Spectrum V's a PS3! Whistle

Took me a while to get used to the RRS satnav after spending a few years with the BMW nav - I think both have their pros and cons.

I'm looking forward to seeing the new 6 series convertible with a hard folding roof.....supposed to be 2011. Anyone heard any news?

I would definitely consider an M6 convertible with a hard folding roof or a 650i / 645i if they are a lot cheaper.

I have a black M6 and it is the most fun car I have driven
The power hits you like a hammer and very easy to handle. You can drive it every day in any weather and not too bad on fuel - I average 19 mpg !!!!!!!! (and still get to have fun).

The engine noise is so deep and throttley it always makes me smile.

You get used to the sat nav - I dont need excuses to get lost Cool .

I am going to miss it come summer as Hubby insists we go for something new.......... : RRS TDV6HSE '58 Bournville, almond Leather
: M6 Black, Bronze leather
about to order RRS2010 TD6 HSE
