IIRC it's a sensor problem or a cracked coolant reservoir but I stand to be corrected.................... I had the same problem on my last RRS when the Fuel Burning heater was installed and all the coolant was drained out. After they handed it back I got a day of low coolent warnings which I took very seriously in view of the open heart surgery that had been performed. It really was a faulty sensor. How old is the car, because it will depend a lot on that and your dealer relationship! If you you don't ask them them you won't get it for free, they can only say sorry it isn't covered. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

A faulty sensor usually causes this, which would have been claimable under warranty, but I note yours is a 2005 model, so I presume it's no longer under warranty. Easiest thing might be to pick up a replacement sensor and do it yourself, it's not beyond the capability of those that are confident with a screwdriver so to speak.
