Thank you sincerely for all the comments. Thumbs Up

As for how much effort it takes to keep it looking nice, I'll let you know this time next year, it might be painted by then. Although I doubt it as it seems pretty straightforward and simple. The added benefit is that any stone marks can be rubbed down and polished again, which is much better than paint.

The Fat Boy is black and chrome with a few choice extras and the Vincent is black and polished alloy. Wink RRS TDV8 - Stornoway Grey, Irory Leather with Dark Zebrano, Privacy Glass, Tow Pack.

Black and chrome the only way to go for a fat boy IMO - my boss had a Terminator fat boy which looked and sounded amazing (straight through V&H pipes Smile ) then he sold it and had a screaming eagle fatboy in autumn haze Big Cry still he has got a black and chrome night rod with 260 back wheel so all is not lost lol 2005 TDV6 HSE Zermatt Silver Ebony Interior Sunroof, RSE, Side Steps

That's the one. Twisted Evil I've got "Slash Cut" Screamin' Eagle pipes on mine, which are nice and noisy. But compared to the Cobra they're almost silent. Very Happy The Cobra sets car alarms off as I drive past them and it has even set off a house alarm. Thumbs Up RRS TDV8 - Stornoway Grey, Irory Leather with Dark Zebrano, Privacy Glass, Tow Pack.

Thanks again.

For anyone who's interested, the engine is a Ford 427 cubic inch (7 litre) "Side Oiler" V8. The side oiler was designed for the GT40 Mk.II and the "side oiler" refers to a modified oil system designed to withstand sustained high speed operation at places like Le Mans. It has an original forged steel crank with original "Le Mans" con-rods but with modern forged pistons and aluminium heads, which have been cnc ported and port-matched. The carb is a 750cfm "double-pumper" Holley. Output is around 520bhp.

Cheers,

Good god, Paul - it looks amazing!!! I remember seeing the pics of it going in or coming out of the container and it looked great then, but really stands out now. Must be a hoot to drive - not something you'd want to take out in the wet, I suspect Wink

I drove it to Le Mans last July for the Classic and it poured with rain all the way there. Big Cry There was about an inch of water in the bottom of the car and it has made a bit of a mess of the seat leather, but apart from that, it behaved impecably. The tyres are wet weather race tyres, so they actually work very well in the wet. In fact, they are better than the RRS in standing water. Smile

Having said that, you still need to be careful because it has a huge surplus of power over traction in the dry, let alone the wet. Twisted Evil RRS TDV8 - Stornoway Grey, Irory Leather with Dark Zebrano, Privacy Glass, Tow Pack.
