Rolling Eyes ... Laughing ... Wink

(I`m allergic to green badges... plus I don`t look at it that deeply, I`m not trying to pass my TDV6 off as a SC RRS, it`s that I have a silver and black RRS and as there is a silver and black badge available, its a quick and easy way to enhance the theme. )

Yes they are metal and I think you might be right...
They seem to be that size... and they have big round things on the end of the plastic thingy...

I have also changed my badges to black and had the same problem. The badges are different depending on whether you have a supercharched sport or non supercharged sport. You have either been given supercharched door badges or maybe steering wheel badges. They do not fit in the holes of non supercharged models as they have metal backing. They are also slightly smaller.

I have seen some black ones for sale that are compatable on ebay with the plastic backing hooks as shown in AndrewHG2's photos. I just ended up trimming the metal and putting them on with superglue. Maybe get the compatable ones later as they fit flush and click in.

I've replaced all the green badges in and outside of my TDV8. The s/w and interior door trim badges are made of Tin (with a clearcoat/plastic laquered front).

Dead easier job - just be careful when removing the steering wheel badge!

do u think it would be a good idea to use a hair dryer on the steering wheel badge to make the glue soft so i can get it off??

Carefully drill small hole in centre. Put self tapping screw in and pull gently with pliers to release the metal prongs that hold the badge on.

Hairdryer won't help. Might damage your wheel TDV6 - gone

Agreed. There isn't any glue on the steering wheel badge, it's just held in with tin prongs (4 in total). Slowly and carefully prise it out. The new one will need to be stuck on (the prongs are cut off) with glue or 3m. Try and get a wafer thin tape otherwise it will look stuck on.

These are my door card badges fitted (they just pop in)
