Side Steps or Not!

Just bought a kahn RRS and debating whether to put side steps on it

Got some pics of the car in my gallery

Would be interested to see what you all think about whether the side steps would make it look better or worse

Cheers

Personally I hate side steps as they compromise off-road ability slightly (although they do help keep the car cleaner), but as you already compromised that with the Kahn styling kit I guess it just comes down to cosmetic preference...

However, you will get your trousers dirty getting in and out if the car isn't spotless and you brush against them

I always thought the deployable steps on the ffrr looked cool. Not sure if theyre available on the sport though. They pop out by remote or when the doors opened.

On you car I think standard steps would screw up all Kahns work with colour coding etc (you'll end up with a silver stripe at the bottom of each side) Range Rover Sport HSE DYnamic SDV6 Velocity blue 2020 MY

I think the 'normal' door bottoms look lost without the steps, Im in a quandry I would like the overfinch kit but with that you cant have the steps, argh!

The steps make it loads easier to get in, I have a 3 year old that probably wouldnt be able to get in without them and a disabled sister in law who definately wouldnt. [SOLD!]2008 TDV6 HSE - Stornoway with Ebony leather, 20" Overfinch Supersport Titanium

No to side steps.

This subject was one of the early topics on this forum and the resulting debate came up with the conclusion that with side steps fitted you're more likely to get your trousers dirty. Thumbs Up 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

I never get my trousers dirty........i think sidesteps make the carlook much better, they do hinder off road capability but I doubt yours will ever leave the tarmac

Ha ha, I remember that thread from way back then VA... Pretty embarrassing stuff - for me and my imperfect use of the English language! http://www.rrsport.co.uk/forum/topic621.html If I wasn't taking my car off road these days, I would still like the look of the OEM side steps - which my wife and daughter also found quite useful at the time. Now they use the rock sliders as side steps. But I don't know if they would look "right" on a Kahn body kit?
