D3 never even made it onto our list for consideration because:

1. We were in our early 30's at the time, not our early 60's,

2. We have no sprogs so why the hell do we want a 7 seater family orientated car?

3. IMHO, D3 has none of the looks or street-cred of the RRS

4. We wanted to lightly mod our RRS and with the D3, well you can't polish a turd can you?

5. The good lady (For whom the Sport was originally bought) thought she would look (Even more!) like a mum on a school run.

I did buy a Disco so that I could keep the RRS clean and free from smelly dogs. The D3 is a good work horse but the RRS is a far better car to drive. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
2009 Alaska TDV8 - Gone and much missed.

Belgium 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Buckingham Blue

I had occasion to drive a V8 Disco 2 and didn't really like it, then I met the SWMBO and she had a TD5 Disco and I had to drive that Big Cry the only thing I would miss about the Disco is the 7 seats. The SWMBO didn't like the D3, we did think about one but she thought it was too much like a Transit, and she had her heart set on a FL2... so I got her a RRS TDV8 Thumbs Up Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh

Greece 2009 Range Rover Sport TDV6 SE Alaska White

SWMBO didn't like the brick look

but in reality

I can do the same job (regarding offroading) with RRS and then go with a nice suit to a "sic" restaurant Cool

PS. Also there was no need for a 7seater 2009 Range Rover Sport 2.7 TDV6 SE, Alaska White, Almond leather, tinted windows, active rear diff, tow pack, HiICE, full spare: gone and already missed

I had a D3 and liked it as much as the Sport.
D3 is more polyvalent. The Sport is different...

United States 2007 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Buckingham Blue

LR3SC that would be good Thumbs Up

I had a LR3 (or D3 over in Blighty) before the RRS, liked the room for sure and so did MrsY & the kids but like someone said heart over head, the RRS won one day at the dealers.... but the new LR4 may win me back at some point... despite this the heart yearning right now over 2010 RRS again even at a 2.8% price increase here in the States. Brit across the Pond Wink
