Rattling Old Boot....

I hsve got the most annoying rattle coming from somewhere in the boot - short of having someone sit in the boot as I drive seeing what it is...any ideas?? I am sure someone once said on here it was the rear glass or something.......any thoughts??? And yes I've emptied everthing out....

I can just picture the conversation in a mix of broken english and pigeon greek trying to explain that I played my CD to find the rattle and now I want them to fix it! Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Wink Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

I'm going to get a mate to sit in the back...i think it could be the rear glass or wiper box..........on smooth roads it's fine, but on A roads etc, soooooooo bloody annoying!!!

had the same issue with the Treg - had wifey drive while I scrambled around in the back seat and into the boot to find it - the acoustics in a car are very odd as once I was in the boot the noise was coming from the front of the car - never found it and eventually it went on its own

Nick, I think you'd be better to get your mate to drive, it'll be much more satisfying to track down where it's coming from yourself.

South Africa 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Atacama Sand

Hi NickM
I had an irritating rattle somewhere in the back .... eventually tracked it to the rear seatbelt holder knocking on the trim between the seat and the side of the car (the seatbelt doesn't stay in the holder). Eventually sorted with a piece of velcro glued to the holder and the side of the seat.
I hope you track it down.

Thanks Springs and Neil - I pulled the rear seatbealt buckle forward so it's resting on the seat face, so I know it's not that - i think it's the rear glass or wiper box - going to empty the stuff from under the floor too - tools etc and see if thats helps...

Does that not involve getting your hands dirty Confused

Drop it into the dealers......whilst stomping your feet and doing a fair impression of looking mean:

Mine had an annoying rattle from the back, so I took it in to the dealer and a new tailgate latch striker plate is being fitted on Weds - hopefully to fix it!
