£200 difference is what 3 tanks of fuel per year? Not really a big deal compared to what you spend on the car Porsche Cayenne S Diesel 66 Plate

thank you all for your brill advice, well im convinced, there will be a RRS on the drive as soon as i find the right one

think i'll test drive both the TDV6 and the TDV8, i have read all the posts that compare the two and everyone raves about the TDV8 and if there isnt much in it when comparing the mpg then if my budget can stretch to it i'll get a TDV8.

i'll keep you posted, need to sell my wifes peugeot 307 cc and my beloved lotus elise Sad

but you cant blame me for being concerned when you read reviews like this -

http://www.whatcar.com/car-review-readers.aspx?RT=2246

i had an almost exact experience at my local dealer as did graham molloy (forth post down) went into the dealer in hudersfield, the place was deserted, had to wait 10 mins before the reception even acknowledged me, then waited another 10 mins because she couldnt find a free sales person to help me, and the sales guy just couldnt be asked, he really didnt care about selling me a car, wont be going back there again ever!!

i guess i'll opt for a 06 tdv6, heard its cheaper to tax, anything after 07 is higher road tax.

also will be looking to get the tesco finest warranty once the manufacturer warranty expires, so if anything does go wrong i should be covered.

Yeah that was a nice bonus for me too - £200 instead of £400 for tax, will also be heading to tesco finest warranty when mine runs out Thumbs Up

I think that as long as the car was registered prior to 23 March 06 it takes advantage of the lower rate otherwise its £405 and £435 next year. (Mine is an '06 post 23 March and unfortunately I have always had to pay the higher amount).

Good luck.

My car was first registered on 24th March 2006. Confused Just how happy does that make me feel. Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry

An extra £200 per year, just for the sake of twenty four hours. Banging Head Banging Head Banging Head Arctic Frost TDV6 SE. Aspen Leather, Cherry Wood, Privacy Glass, PTI, Tow Pack, Mudflaps, Tasmods, a new Fuelflap, a RRSport.co.uk umbrella in the boot & a RRSport.co.uk sticker on the rear glass.

Germany 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Bonatti Grey

Don't let anybody tell you off, it is a great car! Thumbs Up

I have mine for about half a year and 15,000 miles now and it has been nothing but brillant! Very Happy
Single issue: Parking sensor broken, fixed under warranty within an hour. That's fine for a 3 year old car I think. Cool

This car is no better or worse than others referring to reliability. She has some other issues though but that's just her character! Cool

But just to be safe I would suggest to buy from a LR dealer and with warranty just in case... RRS TDV6 HSE, 2006, bonatti grey, ebony interior, rear diff, s/c grille and vents, stormers, privacy, tasmods, iphone integration Wink

I've had my car for just over a year now, and have done 22,000 miles in 12 months - never really had a problem......had the filter changed (common fault, car going into lowered mode, engine warning light etc etc) but cvhanged under warranty and all fine since.......and I've always said, it's the most reliable car I've had in years - so go ahead and get it....and you won't look back mate Thumbs Up
