Drove it in Command Shift today and managed to average 15 mpg without spoiling the fun too much. I still think it is over-fuelling though.

It has to go back to have Bluetooth and Sat Nav software upgraded at some point so I'll get them to double check at the same time.

With various promos, I've collected about 12000 Nectar points with BP alone, and I bought the car as I work from home, so average annual milage, about 6000 - 7000 miles..... 2008 RRS S/C, Java Black/Ebony Sports Seats, Side Steps, Zebrano, Privacy Glass, Premium ICE, Hybrid TV, 22" Black/Polish Stormers.

Just out of interest do you use 98 octane or regular 95?

OK, I'll re-phrase the question:

Can anyone who has actually OWNED a S/C RRS please advise if this fuel consumption is normal?

(Smug owners driving vehicles powered by tractor fuel need not reply - if I didn't care about performance, refinement, and the horrible smell I'd have bought one of them too Wink )

Just to add insult to injury, I drive with the afterburners on, wing passed S/C range rovers every day tootling along at 55 trying to eek an extra 1mpg out of the tank and I still get 550 miles to a tank - it astounds me how many people want the kudos of a S/C but can't afford to fuel it - or can - but find it frightening to fill up every two days and end up driving like a 90 year old.

Me I am happy with my Tractor Juice fuelled FFRR - theres virtually no daily difference in performance, unless you drive flat out 0-60 all the time and which S/C owner is going to do that - virtually no 4x4 can out-gun it Very Happy

If you want supercharged performance and diesel economy get a TDV8 chipped by JE - its faster.

If you drive hard in a Petrol V8 RR you will be lucky to get 10 mpg - thats exactly what I get out of my other vehicle...

Plenty of reported SC mpg figures on here Another, if you've been here long enough and paid attention like a lot of us have then 12mpg is not at all unusual. 150 miles out of a tank is also not unusual.

Make no mistake, they're expensive cars to run even if they do sound fantastic.

Another SW,

I average about the same as you, and I was also a little shocked! I now measure my jouney in £ instead of miles or time!

Usually get 250 miles from a full tank and tend to switch between 97/99 octane, never notice much difference but makes me feel like i'm half looking after the injectors!

Cheers guys - I'm not actually that bothered about the cost as no amount is too much to enjoy the sound of the supercharger whining and a big V8 at 6,000 rpm IMO Mr. Green The £5,000 I saved buying an S/C instead of a TDV8 will pay for a hell of a lot of petrol even at 12 mpg Very Happy

I was more concerned that there was something wrong with the engine management or something, as I had been advised by numerous people that 15+ mpg was normal - I guess all these people must be the ones trying to save fuel and getting overtaken by 'Vogue' in his FFRR Wink

Another SW, i use 98 all the time, and I know BP have a 102 out on trial at the moment only in a few forecourts. Would be interested to see the diff. 2008 RRS S/C, Java Black/Ebony Sports Seats, Side Steps, Zebrano, Privacy Glass, Premium ICE, Hybrid TV, 22" Black/Polish Stormers.

Put simply, the S/C is the Beast and the TDV is a Beastette...........even at 12mpg, you chose the right engine....if you want economy, buy a Mini D and join the minions. Mr. Green
