Had been happily trolling around in a 2003 M3, but then little boy came along and migrated to a 535i. Have traded that against the RRS. First non-BMW in nearly 10 years!

Seemingly the Land Rover marketing people were spot on in expecting BMW, Audi, Porsche and Merc drivers to change to the RRS.

I am slowly beginning to wonder whether there are any long standing Land Rover owners among us RRS buyers at all..... Rolling Eyes

Of course Ford will like the rush and the cash generated by the RRS but LR has to be careful not to loose their identity. It's already beginning to happen to Volvo, if you know what I mean.

Sold my rattly Bmw Convertible.

Had a 03 325ci convertible, was rattly to say the leats but was excellent in the summer months!! all spec, never had a 4x4 for before and what a 4x4 to start with, get more looks then in the convertible! no complaints, although why is a cigarette ashtray lid so difficult to repair?? and why is LR service so crap?

probably because they are not used to the modern car customer service thing. Landrovers of old just went wrong, it was a fact of life, that's what you bought into, the character of it all. Landrover dealers still employ those old school chaps who have not and cannot move along with the times, and unfortunately this reflects in the customer service.

When you have an experience of a dealership. write it up in the Dealers forum, that way we can all make better informed decisions on where to take our cars. L319 D4 HSE

Glad to see I was'nt the only one going from a convertible [ Auidi S4 cab ]
however unlike yourself I have owned 4x4's before , so had some idea what to expect. But with the sport I coul'nt wait. Now its here and I'm in it I would say it was a superb choice. As for LR service.... I think it varies from one dealer to another. I had issues with Audi and this was at the centre that had won awards for best centre in the UK. You can't win 'em all.
Personally my local LR Dealer has been OK so far. But I expect any dealership selling a new car that "sells like hot cakes" is going to upset a few people along the way.But n general I would expect better from a premium brand dealership.

Traded in my 2001 M5. Originally contemplated selling the Beast because I did a drunken thing and got engaged! Im just kidding about the "drunken" part. My fiance and I were (and still are) looking at buying a house and we decided to let the beast go in favor of something more practical and less costly..... hee hee, thats before I casually drove by the Land Rover dealership and pointed to the RRS... "look honey, wouldnt it be great if we had one of those in front of our new "house" when we get it?

Long story short..... 2001 M5 Gone! Hello RRS!

In response to query about long term RR owners....

Sold privately my P38 Range Rover DT (which I had owned for 10 Years) -after fixing it up with coil springs (3 monthly visits to spanner monkeys got toooo expensive)! and had JE Engineering do clever stuff to engine, exhaust, intercooler, etc.

Prior to the RR DT I traded in a supercharged V8 classic after 10 years ownership which got me really familiar with how these cars are built and work - some pretty smart ideas used...

Current RR is too big and too tall for my ideal car and just looks awkward to me, whereas the RRS hits the style nail on the head - same size as previous P38 model and the Ford inspired hope it will not need the owners to heavily modify it to keep it working....

Only concern now is the car is seriously more intelligent than mechanics.... RRSprt HSE TDV6 - Artic Frost, Tow pack, Privacy glass.

Previous 10 yrs with P38 JE Engineered, coil sprung DT
