After 08.5MY the phone cradle was dropped from the spec - I doubt if you will find a cradle to fit any of the more recent Nokias you have to make do with the Bluetooth and a Halfords 2/6 cigarette lighter charger to stop your phone battery from going flat 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Andrew, pre 2008.5MY RRSs have a very neat wired cradle under the lid of the centre cubby box (it was an option on cars below HSE spec IIRC). Hides you phone and connects it to the PTi and also charges the phone. Unfortunately you cannot hook your phone straight into it but need a special "adapter cradle" to make it fit. It gives full connectivity to the addressbook and is totally handsfree utilising the in-car PTi. Also as it was a Nokia unit like the Bluetooth, the majority of phones that fitted were Nokias! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Andrew thanks for the info - might go with one of those if my plan-B below doesn't work out, but as Tim said I was originally looking for an under cubby box lid cradle which appears not to exist for an E51. Good thing about the cradle was it connects the external antenna and power to the phone which bluetooth does not.

ok, so I'm not mad then - thats reassuring . So now all I need to get started is a wiring diagram for the PTI connector under the cubby box lid and I can do the rest - anybody out there got one? Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE, Buckingham Blue with Ebony Black

Had another idea - what I need is a 12v socket inside the lid of the cubby box. So given there is one at the back of the cubby box already, all I need to do is connect a second 12v extension socket onto the power terminals at the back of that socket and run the cable up into the lid of the cubby box where I can plug a charger into a new 12v socket. Its a lot simpler, but no aerial connection. But charger power inside cubby box and no cables dangling around which will do fine for me. Does anyone know how to take the cubby box apart to get at the back of the rear facing power socket? Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE, Buckingham Blue with Ebony Black
