LR parts and labour ain't cheap, especially in london ( i presume, I have no labour prices to go buy)

I just paid best part of £350 just for new brake pads all round on my FL2 whlist it was in for its 2yr/30k service

A main dealer typically charges £120+ PH - not sure of the cost of parts probably £100. Total = £340+VAT at £50. so yes possibly £110 too much as long as the recommended job time is only 2 hours. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
2009 Alaska TDV8 - Gone and much missed.

From memory my FL2 was £75 front £60 Rear for pads plus Labour

Bit strange though the service board says the FL2 2nd year service is more than a RRS or D3 servive Rolling Eyes

Rocco,

I'm sorry that you feel that our service department has let you down. Unfortunately I have not had an opportunity to look at the forum this afternoon so have just seen your post.

I am sure that there is a decent explanation as we very rarely have complaints of overcharging. Could you PM me your name, registration number and contact number and I will ensure that it is looked into appropriately.

Many thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Find a good indy to do the brake job instead of getting raped for £500. Been quoted £250 all in from a local garage that specialize in Landrover's.

Would only use a main dealer for warranty work........£120 per hour......to change brakes is taking the Censored ing p*ss!

VA after my recent service and 15,000 miles of agressive driving they tell me my pads are only 10% worn!!!

Can this be true?

Depends what you call aggressive! 5mph up in the northern wastelands could be considered aggressive. Wink 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

All,

We have identified the forum member and our Serivce Manager is dealing with the complaint. It's not totally straight forward but I understand that it will be resolved by Monday.

Keep us informed - I guess the original post isn't the whole story. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Laughing Laughing

not that kind of aggressive, I could only do drive by shootings in Europe as I'm left handed making it difficult to hold a gun and steer at the same time, in Europe.....no problem!

3 sides to every story

I guess it pays to get a quote BEFORE letting any garage, however good they are, start work!

Hope it get's sorted amicably but the post does demonstrate the power of a public forum Shocked
