If you value your life I wouldn't fit imitations unless you know that they have been tested and can take the weight of the car. Many of the copies are not good quality. In August I went to look at cheap "genuine copy" Land Rover wheels - they were poor quality and even came in imitation Land Rover printed packaging................. but made in China. There was a lovely FFRR sitting on the garage forecourt that had one of their fake Overfinch Supersports

I have genuine overfinch supersport 20's on mine, they have been on just over a week and have yet to meet a kerb, but they seem beautifully made and I am told are fully load tested for the car, when at Overfinch I spoke to one of the guys who (predictably but seemingly honestly) said they get a lot of people thinking they have bought the real deal on the phone to them with problems. So I guess the only way to know you have the real things is to buy them direct! (also the copies look cheap) He said they have started branding the spokes now but I guess it wont be long before the forgers do the same.

My problem is that Overfinch won't deal directly with me or stand over parts that I get that are not sourced through their Ireland dealer as I live in Northern Ireland. They have a rep in the south that I have to go through which is fine only for the fact that there is 27% vat in Ireland and things are generally more expensive then in the North. Basically thanks to the twits that are in the banking sector my £ is nearly the same value as the Euro there for a set of 20" supersports with tyres will cost me £3500!!!!!! yes over £1000 more than buying from Overfinch UK! same goes for the kits that I may be able to get replicas of as well as they are just way to expensive over here!

I have a set of supersports (thought they were new and gen but was sadly wrong) on my wife RRS ,I can honestly say it is not an enjoyable drive ,The car's had 2 puctures and one broken alloy in 3 months ,every bump feels like a pothole and the car rattles about so much that Im gonna go back to 19 or 20 inch rims next week . |

I think that unless your roads are billiard table smooth then anything over 20's is too harsh.

I've been running on 19's on the Tdv8 for the last 2 weeks. It's the first time I've used them instead of the 20's and the first thing I noticed was how much smoother the ride was on the pockmarked roads around here. As the weather has warmed up above 8c now (how long for?) I'm changing back to the 20's tomorrow in preparation for a trip to the south next week and I don't want to run nearly 1000 miles on tyres designed to be used below 7c when it is warmer than 10c, so back on go the 20's. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
