Punctures !

My wife has now managed to puncture 3 tyres on the TDV8 (20") in the last 3 months.

Claiming it was potholes. But each time, the side wall has just split catastrophically.

Any ideas what the problem and solution could be (apart from get rid of her)?

Feel like I'm keeping the tyre industry in business single handed at £250 a shot at the moment. TDV8 RRS
Aston DB9 Volante
Subaru Legacy Spec B
and a Nissan GTR on order ! Can't wait.

Yep, I agree with JF. Stop your better half from driving the motor.

Even though it's supposed to be a go anywhere, do anything 4 x 4, you still can't hit potholes at speed in an RRS. The tyres will burst as discussed on here a few times in the past. Arctic Frost TDV6 SE. drop down to 19" rims. Probably not the answer you wanted to hear, but 20" low profiles are very vulnerable especially if you are adept at hitting pot holes and curbs.

I have a shooting friend who used to run Volvo T5's he had never ending problems. He kept hitting speed bumps and pot holes - the low profiles just deflated as the tyre bead got slightly dislodged. He didn't notice the tyre had deflated as the ride was so bad (firm Rolling Eyes ) and the result was a chewed tyre within 100 yards.

Honestly, just teach her how to drive. Rolling Eyes Laughing
I know even women can do it: Mrs McBunny never punctured any of the tyres (maybe because her rims are more expensive than those on the RRS she is used to take care... Wink ). Whistle Cool
(If she will ever read the "even women"-part she will perhaps destroy the tyres when running over me... ....25 times... Shocked Laughing ) RRS TDV6 HSE, 2006, bonatti grey, ebony interior, rear diff, s/c grille and vents, stormers, privacy, tasmods, iphone integration Wink

simple the V8 is just wayyyyyy too heavy for her so out of pure Christian goodness, I will swap my lighter therefore less puncture prone and tested as I have 20" stormers and no punctures for your heavy V8 for absolutely no extra cost!

I know I am such a good and selfless person.. but my place in heaven is assured!!!! Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

get a friend who has a tyre depot. I get my Michelin's for £60 each fitted!

Laughing Thumbs Up

On a more serious note Whistle I know a few D3's that were shod in 20/22" tyres that were under-rated for load - they went through tyres rather rapidly... Should be 107 for the light-weight RRS. A D3 not in drag....
