The whole market is very depressed on all cars. You can pick up an old 2005 model diesel or petrol for about 19k. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

4x4 prices always firm up when we get a flake of snow anywhere in the UK................... in a day or two, once the sun has come back out, prices will fall back again, might be quicker now that fuel prices are creeping up again too 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

What Tim said

I had been tracking prices for a few weeks

Land Rover upped their s/h prices recently

Id be patient and wait for the thaw to finish if I were you

And the new plates can only help you too

Robbie,

There's very little stock out there for franchised dealers, and I for one am having to pay over book value for the right vehicles. The weather does help, however the reason for the shortage is a) not enough good quality part-exchange vehicles against new and b) the majority of dealers paniced into liquidating their stock in Nov/Dec for smal margins/break-even or possibly losses and have then been left without proper stock.

The guys on the forum who know CHPR will back me up in saying that I have been posting for a month or so now asking for anyone who is changing their car to give me the opportunity of buying their RRS. Typically we hold on site 25 used cars plus demonstrators, however at the moment we are down to 8!

I am attending a LR closed auction tomorrow, and am expecting it to be a painfully expensive experience, however I can't sell empty spaces, so will be keen to buy some vehicles. I think that the upwards effect has already happened (hence buying at over book value), however hopefully there will be some stock circulating next month when the new 09 plate comes out.

Hope this helps and if we can do anything for you then drop me a PM.

James Thumbs Up

£7.5k each then VA? That's for a TDv8 of course, less if it's a TDv6 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I think it would be £15k each, for the Disco's!! I suspect on an 08 plate with 1000 miles they'll be on dealers forecourts for over £30k.

I would support what James is saying in terms of used prices, they have certainly improved in 2009 as a result of a shortage of good used stock.

One of the reasons for less stock about is that land Rover have relaxed some of the rules on dealer demonstrators so there are less of these cars coming onto the market. Perrys For New & Used Range Rover Sports
