Apparrently one of the items in the last set of emissions regs was that Euro4 or whatever it was required downward pointing tips for diesel cars, the new regs don't have the same requirement so we can leaglly have straight out pipes!
Jay the 3.0l will be here in March fitted to the Jag XF - I expect the set-up for the LR version will only have small differences to make it suitable for offroad use. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

No - ALL TD's will be able to have straight out pipes. I'm sure it was in last weeks Autocar, filter or no filter

I don't like the alloys on that car, but I'm sure they are only for the test mule (I hope they are only for the test!), they are too fussy

See how low the front fog lights are on it? Not much use for offroading if that's were they will eventually end up 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Maybe just the way BM work but i guess their all doing it now be it a diesel or not everyone likes to see the tips RRS TDV6 Gone but still around

With the TDV6, didn't it have twin turbos on the Jag version but single turbo on the RRS?

IIRC, then I hope they don't repeat the same this time around Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

I think ST that you may find that like the 5.0Ltr N/A it will be available in several states of tune - possibly a weedy version with a single turbo and a higher performance with twin turbos. I think it was in last weeks autocar test of the XF-R that they stated that the twin turbo will be a sequential instalation like BMW's have - a small turbo for quick acceleration and then a bigger turbo cutting in higher up the rev band once it has wound up to speed 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I was very tempted to replace my 3yo TDV6 with a 09MY TDV8 with the same colour and wheels combo like VA's car, but have decided to first wait and see what the 3.0L engine's performance/economy will be. If it's not much slower and with similar torque than a TDV8 (I doubt it) I will go the 6 cylinder route. If not it will definitely be a TDV8. SOMETIMES YOU'RE THE BUG AND SOMETIMES YOU'RE THE WINDSHIELD

Roland, bear in mind there will be no TDV8 in the 2010MY, only the 3L TDV6 (IIRC) Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad
