Did the dealer recommend it should interfere with the PDC sensors?

Odd, the tow bar that fits into the standard hole underneath the car should not obstruct any of the parking sensors.

My ex got a LR tow bar fitted to her Freelander but didn't like the cost that LR were going to charge to fit it so went to a local garage................ they knackered the wiring loom by cutting into the wiring and sticking in a connector block to make the electrics work. After that the battery used to drain quickly, the alarm became unstable and would sound for no reason and she invalidated the car's warranty. At the end of the day she had to crawl back to the dealer and get them to fix it which cost a bucket load of cash more than if she had got them to do it in the first place. You have to know what you are doing with modern car electrics as many of the systems are "multiplexed" using the same wire for several accessories. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Given these guys were recommended by the local dealer, you could at least have some sort of argument with them. Granted though, I doubt the 3rd party's willing to back the LR warranty....

Most dealers out source towbar fitment. It is too expensive and time consuming otherwise.

Went to dealer yesterday, explained the problem, he put the car into reverse....no problem! I tried to reverse it all over his car lot still no prob, he explained it was his magic touch.... I won't say anything in case I give VA an excuse for more Irish jokes. Yet another LR unexplainable glitch! |

That's right! Whoever fits it (3rd party/4th party), the original tow bar will only fit so - underneath and not obstructing any sensors!
