Land Rover Experience day - for UK owners

Here in the UK when you buy any new Land Rover you get an invite to the Land Rover Experience Centre of your choice for a half day offroad driving course in the centre's version of the car you have bought. Having already done 2 LRE days I can highly recommend you take up the offer, and also upgrade to the whole day course............... you will have more time to play offroad in their RR Sport rather than yours! I know that there are similar centres in Germany and Finland, don't know if they have delevoped them in the rest of Europe yet. Perhaps Hans or anybody else in Europe might like to let us know. The cars are unmodified except for lamp guards and your car will do exactly what theirs can do. When I bought the RRTD6SE the Dunkeld LRE only had the use of a V8 Vogue for showing us how to play with all the toys offroad................ it was magic and I ttok a friend along who had never driven offroad in her life before and they made her feel really special and gave her the full works training.

I look forward to my invitiation, I guess Eastnor Castle or the LandRover factory will be my closest place?

I've been to the Dunkeld site a few times, but only for afternoon tea at the Dunkeld Hotel (now a Hilton I believe) L319 D4 HSE

RR, go for the Home of the Legend Day out at the factory, after you have done the LRE at Eastnor..................
Also Eastnor is where all new landy model have their offroad ability tested in secret so you never know what you might see in the bushes, when you get the LRE invite I urge you to upgrade and pay the extra to take a friend/ family member along and also upgrade to the full day course you will not regret it, playing where Landies are supposed to go in Land Rover's wagon!
And you don't have to wash it afterward.
In fact why not scream up the M6/M74/M9/ A9 to Dunkeld in the Supercharged to where the Scottish LRE is in the grounds of the Dunkeld Hilton Resort and they have the use of some superb offroad trails on the Blair Atholl Estate. Have a weekend away in Scotland (I don't work for the tourist board, honest!)
The Home of the legend Gold day is a full day guided tour of the factory, visiting the RR and Freelander production lines fantastic lunch, then the afternoon on LR's own test grounds within the Factory. The cost is wallet melting at something like £300 but you won't ever forget it. When I went in November we got to drive a G4 rally prepared Freelander in a river/ bog with water up almopst to the windscreen.............. then we did it in a Defender.
Then we drove V8 Vogue RR's down a 100ft long flight of concrete stairs, a Russian summer road (logs that are bl**dy slippery to demo DSC) and in places you would never dream to take your own wagon! HeHe you might even get to run over a Greenpeace demonstrator!
Once you get the bug you will be looking for an old Defender for the weekends!
I posted the Brochures for the Home Of the Legend over on the RangeRovers.net last year. You dealer will have the details, it's a yellow pamphlet!

OFF ROAD FUN

If anyone is interested in some non damaging off roading, I have arranged a day for the Disco 3 guys and can for the RRS owners. The course is severe and challenging, but non damaging other than a bit of mud if it rains.

Costs are rediculously low and I will not publish them on the site as it is a privilidge that I will only give to registered users of Martins site. It will be a fun day and with learning about the car and yourselves. The guys I have running the event are experts and one is the european champion, all have LR Experience training including myself. I own a company who deal with all types of transport worldwide and I am an off road enthusiast in all types of vehicles all over the world.

If you have an interest, please let Martin or I know and we can set something up.

I am also prepared to set up weekend off roading events in Wales and trips to various parts of the world. Some are very severe, some are simply great fun.

Anyone got any thoughts on this? I'm in Kent but if it's worth a drive somewhere to another center then I'll do that Wink Old enough to know better,

Eastnor is a great site too, but I went to Ashford with my RRS and had a blast. As VA says, upgrade to the full day - you get to see your car do SO much more in the afternoon Very Happy

When did you order the car, Super? If after Dec 31st, then you're in for a fight... otherwise, give the LR experience a ring (number's on the LRE site) and chase up. They'll ask you for the reg num and away you go.

If you ordered before 31st Dec (I think) then chase customer services. You should have recieved a call from them shortly after delivery and given a name and number to contact if you needed to - use them, I did and it's paid off Cool Old enough to know better,

I'm trying that now. Just been batted back by LRE to LR Cust services, who are apparently going to sort something out having previously told me by email that I was still entitled. Good job I kept the emails. So will see what they come up with. TDV6 - gone
TDV8 - gone
