Mac's are for Sheep Sheep Sheep Sheep Sheep Sheep Sheep Laughing

its all down to personal preference, I wouldnt buy a Mac as they are way to expensive for what you get, the same with Sony's.

never believe quoted battery life especially if you are going to play DVDs on the battery.

Tosh/Dell/HP/Compaqs you cannot go wrong with any of these (ok you can there are always bad ones).

If you are travelling alot with a laptop then dont spend more that £600 with 3 year warranty its just not worth it.

Er what's one of them Jay?

Mole - I regularly get the quoted 9 hours on long flights out of the Sony, if I start playing Dvds then battery life goes down to about 5-5.5 hours. I see on the Sony website that some of the new T series notpads come with built in 3g............................... if the charges to my iPhone are anything to go by that is one way of webbrowsing overseas that is best avoided.................... bill before 3g= £21 a month.. after 3g and with websurfing/email on 3g in Spain/France/Egypt/Sri Lanka/Singapore/Taiwan/Hong Kong/China/North Europe I manged to donate £385 to O2's coffers in December! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

My little Sony has never missed a beat - but the big brother laptop version I had before hated travelling in my briefcase and had to go back to them several times for attention. Maybe the fact that I have a Sony carrying case for the current one has helped protect it. I use it at home as well, in preference to my PC. I'm using the little one now. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Jay I tried the earlier version of one of those as a trial and it's too small, the keys are small and while the screen is beautifully clear it gives you eyestrain trying to read documents on it.
Just looked at the Mac Air thing - it only has 1 USB port, no card readers or anything, how can anybody live without at least 2 USB ports and an XD/SD card reader built in these days?
Also while it looks a beautiful piece of kit it's Laptop size not note book. It's AWFULLY expensive for a laptop. I'll have to go into the Glasgow Appleshop and have a look at one though................... tomorrows time-wasting project! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

they do look cool the sub notebooks I just object to the cost of them.

Jay I have no objects to Mac notebooks and the Air is a piece of work, its just my job and everything I do requires a Windows platform plus I would be hung drawn and quartered if anyone found out I had a Mac, had to keep my iPod hidden Laughing

when buying any computer kit it comes down to what it needs to do an how much it costs, if you can aford buy your next laptop notebook etal with solid state drives as about 90% of all failures I see are with HDD failures.

I use an iMAC and its the business but also wanted a portable PC. I bought an Aspire 1 from Acer and its great value for money (WiFi, excellent screen, light etc) and no issues with reliability to date.

Why is it IT types hate Macs, could it be because they just work! You buy one you switch it and you start using it. Buy a PC and its load this, load that, do this , do that Yawn I thought it was all hype until I bought one! Porsche Cayenne S Diesel 66 Plate
