Allowed you to control the frequency of the rear window wipe just like the front screen.

You'll find out why if you go that fast in the wet! Intermittent isn't enough! When the L322 FFRR came out the rear wiper could only be used in a fixed intermittent wipe - it did a program wipe then intermittent and it was the source of a lot of complaints that on such an expensive car you couldn't vary it - usually the intermittent flick was too fast, but on the motorway it really needed continuous wipe. LR fixed that with the facelifted model though. What was really nice with the FFRR rear wiper was that it parked away out of sight at the top of the screen but you still got a dribble of water running off the end of the blade after you had washed the screen, was really annoying in winter when the roads had been salted but weren't wet and the salt dust needed frequent clearing off the screen. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

One other nice thing about the FFRR front and rear screen wash wipe system was that you got a quite long delay and a really good fan of water spray on both screens to wash off muddy crap before the wipers started, the RRS doesn't have the same delay, it's much shorter and doesn't give the water a chance to get right down the screen after pressing the button. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

And heres another interesting one that is applicable to S/C's, TDv8's and TDv6's with the DR pack - if you go offroading then the electro-hydraulic antiroll bar system of the DR will automatically disengage and allow quite a lot more wheel articulation than cars with out DR fitted. Then when you go back on-road the antiroll bar system locks itself back up into normal road mode and for going fast! Very clever. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
