Apple 3g phone connection

New to RRSPORT
Can anybody tell me if a adaptor is available to allow me to connect my Apple phone to the phone connection in the center console.

Get the LR bluetooth kit installed. Works like a charm with the iPhone 3G. RRS TDV8, black with ivory.

There isn't a cradle to fit the iPhone and as of MY2008.5 there is no pre-wired fitting under arm rest.
Be very careful about which accessories you connect to a 3g iphone , I use a set of speakers with mine and
it gets static build up on SIM connections and won't acquire networks easily when I travel 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Korenai,

That's a problem in your setup then. I have it paired with the BT in the RRS, and every-time I start up the car it connects in a few seconds, it updates my phonebook, as well as the call register. I.e. even if I clear the register on the phone, it is immediately gone in the car as well. The entire interaction is handled though the radio controls and the steering wheel controls - I haven't had a problem (except a freeze on the iPhone, but that happens from time to time).

I don't know much about issues in this area, but believe I read about a software update which should be done by the stealer. Anyone?

... and BTW - there exists a cradle for the iPhone with a air vent mounting kit (I got it in an Apple store). Also the LR kit for the iPod can be made to fit the iPhone, but I am not sure it charges as well. However, if you have the Audio Connectivity Kit it includes a USB connection, which will charge the iPhone, but not interact with the iPod functionality of the iPhone. RRS TDV8, black with ivory.

It seems that between 2007 and 2009 LR changed the BT module... My module has the latest software, same goes for my iPhone, but still...
Thursday I'll be at the dealer to fix my front left suspension (not car's fault, my fault for driving in snow with worn Contis toward a curb), I'll try to ask if there's a new update or something.

I think that if you have the cradle under the cubby box lid you should also have the Bluetooth, you will not find an iPhone connector for the RRS in the Applestore - it's a Land Rover accessory.
The LR cradle only supports a few phones and mostly Nokias. If you want to play the MP3 files on your iphone then it may be easier to use a cable connection to the AUX socket at the back of the centre cubby box beside the rear seat heater and vent controls and buy a charger cable from halfords or the Appleshop. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Me neither, though auto connection works most times.

You know that it would be easy to make a cradle. I'd love to have an aerial connection for my iphone.

How does it deal with contacts? My phone syncs with my mac so has quite a few hundred contacts and multiple numbers for one contact, does your car handle that? At the mo I just divert to a Nokia phone in a cradle, but one phone would be easier. Porsche Cayenne S Diesel 66 Plate

yea it doesnt work with multiple numbers Sad. It just selects the first number iirc. It syncs all the contacts though. It will bring up the contact name regardless of which number they call from. Then you can use the call register to call them back from that............ or you can manually dial the specific number via the phone. WINNER - 2008 Best All New Photograph

2005 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Vesuvius Orange

works like a dream in my 05 RRS... originally had issues connecting each time i got in the car but since the upgrade its worked seamlessly.

Note: I don't think this is a freebie... as part of the deal when buying the car, I insisted the dealer upgraded the bluetooth... after numerous issues, it became apparent they did not, thus the upgrade. RRS First Edition S/C, Vesuvius Orange, Rear Entertainment, Alpine TUE-T200DV, Stormer Alloys. (+ 19" MTR's for playing in the snow!)

I had my 06 SC in this week and they put a new BT module in for free, i just mentioned that my iphone 3g wasn't connecting correctly and it was sorted under warranty...
