Australia 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Rimini Red

My bonnet has a large patch on it which is only visible from a certain angle - depending on the light. Under the fluoro lights at the carwash in the evening the bonnet looks like a real mess. Maybe it was damaged and repaired in the factory - the dealer says he was unaware of it. I will get it resprayed when I take it for first service.

Overall the car is very good but the paintwork is certainly not up to standard for the price bracket. Other niggles are uncomfortable seats after a couple of hours and unbelievable lag from the diesel engine - certainly not a car to be darting in and out of traffic. I have been caught a couple if times trying to slip into traffic at roundabouts - after waiting a second or two for the power to come on I decided it was better to brake. At least the bad paint isn't dangerous.

TDV6 Rimini Red/Alpaca, Sunroof, Adaptive, Phone, Nav, PDC, Mem.

Bird 'poop' would only affect the laquer, this is good old LR paintwork! I was drooling / looking over a £68K Range Rover in a showroom recently, it was silver and had 2 lighter patches on the tailgate both about 2" by 1".

It looked terrible, if the new owner is not very observant I feel very sorry for him / her.

Peter, afraid I've got to agree with all of the above.

When delivered up from dealer in Surrey, I noticed that the rear n/s door had what looked like grit under the paint which made sharp points in the paint as well as a couple if marks. Rang dealer immediately and he said they'll pay for the car to go into local dealer and have a full body buff ( Exclamation ) which'll cost them about £100. If that doesn't sort it then I'll follow it up with them.

I've commented before that the seats seem to press into the back of my thigh and has caused a bit of discomfort - Has anyone else noticed this?

Also agree with the lag, and again this has been posted many times on here that TC treatment will sort that. Depends how you feel about chipping your car Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

Exactly what I have except in many more places. Worst on the roof. Would recommend you get up there and check it is OK.
Not sure a buff will get those marks out.
Seems that LR have serious paint issues. Rob
