Knocking with 22''s

Well, I think I might have a little knocking sound coming from under the front of the car, only when hitting potholes or road humps etc....doesn't sound like a severe knocking, more like something rattling as I hit a bump. Car is due in on Monday to have an exhaust valve replaced and couple of other bits under warranty and to look at this - just a Q though - do you think they will aks me to take my 22's off or not - or should I do it before I take it back? I know many of you have had the knocking with 20''s on them......so what do you think? Wait til I'm asked or just swap em before it goes back?

Thanks

it saves the arguments to swap them before you take it in.
the knocking/rattling could be steering knuckles/balljoints/bushes.

You can ask for them to be looked at while it's in.
If you present the car with 22's and suspension problems expect to be told to B Censored Censored off.

Good luck with finding the knock.

check how tight the wheel nuts are when you remove ,, you might be lucky and its just loose nuts... Laughing

Depends what dealer you take it to some dont mind the 22s but in the past had alot of trouble with dealers knocking warrenty claims because of big wheels so i would deff swop back first....usually sytner dealers (guy salmon) dont mind big wheels Very Happy Autobrokers Ltd

Take them off Nick, they will just use it as an excuse to get out of the issue........at least you are DR free on your car, so worryingly this could be a new issue. Shocked Big Cry L322 Big Daddy SUPERCHARGED 5.0 Autobiography - Here & Now!

I have the same issue! I too have 22"s, my car goes in next WED. Just a rattling or jiggle when I go over bumps or potholes. It's coming from the right front.

The sound is like someone shaking a baseball around in a coffee can under a blanket... Shake shake, shake shake..

DR is the suspension set up thats firms up round corners etc?? I thought TDV6 2007 onwards had this as standard? Spoke to Paul at CHPR and he is happy to take it in as it is.....thoroughly good chaps. Will keep you posted, and the rattle isn't tooooo bad..
