RRS SC Modification

Hey all,

Forgive me if I've missed this somewhere before - or indeed if I come across as a bit of a dumbass... Embarassed

I'm well aware that LPG conversions can be done on the 4.4 V8, but is this the case regarding the 4.2 SC lump to aleviate the need to buy shares in BP??? Being new to the RRS scene, this probably won't be the last silly question I ask!

Cheers,

Dan.

Welcome along Dan! Thumbs Up

The SC can be LPG'd in the same fashion as the 4.4 V8 - just you have to do a LOT of miles to recoup the costs of having it done.

Search the forum with the "search" link in the orange strip at the top and you'll find lots of talk about it Very Happy

Cheers shmoogle - some light reading before bed methinks!

Had a dealer a couple of weeks ago said it was not good for the engine?!? Although he could tell me no more than that when pressed...

Dan,

LPG cancause the engine to run slightly hotter and may cause premature valve wear and 'hot spots' in both the cylinder head and pistons although I am sure there are many cars with 100,000's miles running around without such issues.

It's your call and if you intend to keep the car forever then be prepared for problems Shocked
