I see I'm going to enjoy this forum, what a bl##dy nice bunch of blokes you folk are !

I must say that when I drove my friends beast yesterday I was in absolute awe of the quality of ride across a huge mix of different terrain, had a spot of bother when I got out the beast and did a spot of freefalling - forgot the height of the car in off road mode and duly fell on my a#se. My little beast - RRSport TDV6 due May 06, Buck Blue&Alpaca

Clever clogs! Wink But this doesn't necessarily happen when the heated screen is turned on... Confused

Ahh....I have noticed the slight distortion that I mentioned, but it stops as soon as I turn the heated screen off.

I have a couple of thoughts about the heated windscreen. First, I get a bit of refraction at night with on coming headlights and wearing contacts, but its not much to bother about. Invisible to me in the daytime.

Secondly, I used it once when I was parked outside during an ice storm. It worked quite well and quickly (like less than a minute).

and Finally, I had a fairly big stone strike my windscreen the other day on the highway, and it left no discernible mark. I speculate that the windscreen is thicker or more durable than that flimsy BMW X5 windscreen I used to own.

In this case, it is a couple of pounds well spent as I imagine the cost of windscreen replacement is considerable. Personally, I like a heavy car--it makes me feel at one with the earth.
