hello all

i've been lurking on your forums for the last couple of days and was wondering if you could dispense some general perls of wisdom about the rrs

i was thinking about trading in my current 97 p38 for a 06-07 rrs as the old one is beginning to get expensive (just had an airbag go this week along with the usual host of electrical gremlins which are part of the glorious rr2 experience, but most worryingly the gearbox looks like it might be on its way out)

i was hoping to pickup a 2nd hand 4.2 supercharged for somewhere between 20-30k and while it seams to have pretty much everything fitted to it, but i was wondering what options if any where worth looking out for?

the only ones which really seamed intriguing were the adaptive cruise control, and the ediff (and obviously the rear dvd player would be nice for kids on a long journey, but ho-hum) but i was wondering do either of these work perticularly well and its worth holding out for one with them, or are they mainly just gimmicks?

also, i've not been able to figure out off the specs, how many speakers does the supercharged model have as standard spec (and again, if its 8 has anyone had chance to compare it to the 14?)



finally, having brought all my previous landrovers for (literally) cash in hand i was thinking this could be my first venture into the bewildering world of car finance, and to save another post, & a lot of potential embarrassment i was wondering if someone could give me a rough clue about the relative cost differences for hp vs contract hire assuming its a 26k value over 3 years?

also, i forgot to ask, what exactly is the "premium ice pack" as for the life of me, i can't figure out what would make it premium over the regular odds and ends

This is a package with 2 screen in the headrests and a DVD player, plus I think two pairs of wireless headphones. RRS TDV8, black with ivory.

06 RRS TDV6 HSE, Java/Ebony, PTI, Running Boards, Privacy, S/C Grille/Vents, Stormers, Tasmods - GONE - (

If the car is for normal family driving the standard HSE will be fine. Extras that make the car look good are factory fitted tints and side steps. I have the dvd system and it's great for the kids but you v=can not watch anything in the front when driving - a pain for the passenger but this can be modified but costs a bit. If you need a lot of boot space the RRS will let you down a bit but if you use the boot area to transport a dog then you should be able to fit 2 labrador size ones in the back.

You can get some very good deals on SC RRS at the moment as most buyers are tending to buying the diesels but if you do under 10k a year I think the SC is a fantastic buy. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
