No need to be putted right, as I said, Audi is sold, RRS in the garage. Cool

Didn't BMW own Rover when they launched the 75? So that would make it a German motor. Laughing Laughing

No, that's a lie!

Unfortunately you are absolutely right. It is acually based on the 3series from that time. But then, BMW is bavarian, so absolutely not German! Laughing RRS TDV6 HSE, 2006, bonatti grey, ebony interior, rear diff, s/c grille and vents, stormers, privacy, tasmods, iphone integration Wink

I thought so too, but this does not make sense to me at all. Every stupid Golf, even the old Corsa can do this, why not the RRS? Question

The heated seats are controlled by the ATC (Automatic Temperature Control) module. This is the load management system that monitors electrical load and electrical capacity and is responsible for controlling the majority of the high electrical load systems.

Amongst others, the purpose of this system is to assist in maintaining the battery in a healthy state of charge and also to assist in providing adequate power to fulfil customer expectations.

The system monitors the amount of available current, as defined by the ECM, and the current demand. The system will then attempt to make sure that the electrical loads do not exceed the amount of available power.

You own a very intelligent vehicle (unlike the stupid ones mentioned above) and I hope the above explains why the seat heaters are off when the engine is not running. Wink Malaysia Boleh!

@Bobby:
Yes, it sounds like that but then explain me one thing: If the Lady is so intelligent, why does the radio keep playing when the battery is too weak to start the car?
In the forbidden word all electronics switched off while trying to start if the battery was flat. And the car stopped the heated seats before the battery was too flat to start the car again. Even the lights would dimm before the battery was too flat to start the car again. Rolling Eyes Wink
(Of course that's only theory, since it is a German car, the electronics do everything but not what they are supposed to do in real life! Rolling Eyes Confused )

What the bulletin says is just: "I am afraid the battery we used for your car may be to weak for all the toys if the engine is not running, therefore by telling you I make intelligent decisions I just do not allow you to use any of the toys without the engine running."
The intelligent system is nothing else than just a power supply that only has power when the engine is working, they just formulated it a little more elegant. Wink

But to be honest, I think there's just one real reason why the car acts as it does: She is a Lady and she says "I do not want you to use this. You don't have to understand or agree, I tell you as it is and that's the end of it!" (Our married male forum members may hear this very often... Whistle Rolling with laughter )
She's just bitching as most Ladies usually are... Rolling Eyes Laughing

Just joking, I do love my British Lady! Bow down RRS TDV6 HSE, 2006, bonatti grey, ebony interior, rear diff, s/c grille and vents, stormers, privacy, tasmods, iphone integration Wink
