I wonder if any of you would be kind/naive enough to expand on the following......

Is it really true that each dealer group has a target for each quarter and could theoretically sell a car at a higher than usual discount to meet their numbers and thus to get their bonus?

If so when does the current quarter end?

And is there a similar system with their S/H stock (as I see lots of it seems generic amongst LR UK)?

Just asking but mainly as there seems to be a sudden eagerness to discuss discounts from my local 'expert' who is suddenly my best friend as opposed to ignoring my previous visits and phone calls
This is obviously happening at the beginning of the month - Id assume the Q ended with a full calendar month or is there a year end target?

Or is he just desperate to sell anything at any price?

I wasnt sure if it was calendar year versus financial year

That explains why he's suddenly had a personality change

The thing is I have that little time for the local dude that he would have to probably pay me to take a car off him
