Permission to buy a new......

Looks like i have SWMBO go ahead on the new TV

The system i am looking at is

Panasonic 42" TH42PZ1B (built in HD freesat)

Panasonic DMP-BD35EB Blu-ray Disc Player

Panasonic SC-HTR210 Home Cinema TV Stand System

Does anybody have experience with the 3.1 TV stand speaker systems or projectors type setups Question Comment good or bad Question Question Question

I think for £450'ish the stand will save a few bob as i wouldn't have to spend more £££ on a 5.1 surround sound system and £££ on a table aswell, the above would all link up via the Viera link too

Nick - have a 50PZ81B install on Friday so can give you some feedback then if you wish. In case of the BlueRay player the PS3 is a nice box, however today we have installed a Pioneer system (BDP-LX71 and VSX-LX51) all hooked up to a LX6090 60" LCD - excellent picture - colour depths better than the PS3 imho

all depends on budget I guess - the PS3 is an excellent piece of hardware and good option

i would love some feedback of the install Bow down The plans to keep using sky+ for every day viewing and flick over to the HD channels when theres something to watch on there until more HD becomes available

I have seen alot of people give the thumbs up to a PS3, but having that aswell as a Wii under the TV would drive the misses mad, and i would only be buying it to play Blue Ray as well

Mrs NP has gone quiet now i have source my equipment and best deals Confused , it either the fact i have spent all evening on it or something about a new bathroom she been muttering about Evil or Very Mad

Do the Yamaha sound bars work with the Viera link? and can you add the rear speakers to them?

Thinking to the 3.1 panasonic speaker table might let it down and i will be aways be missing the the 5.1 (or 7.1) speakers.

So I might get the TV, Blueray player and a cheap stand till the bathrooms done Evil or Very Mad

do you mean the Yamaha YSP? I believe the latest incarnation (YSP-40D etc) is compatible however I've not tried myself. No rear speaker option is available for the YSP as it is designed to create the surround sound effect itself

If you can wire (under carpet or any other way) then its always the best option.

thanks kaine Thumbs Up

it is the YSP things i meant, i think i will miss the rear speakers so i am having a rethink on the built in speaker stand and i already have a reasonable quality speaker wire running to the current speakers.

I think i might have to pop out and buy What HiFi magazine Wink

@ Kaine

How did the Plasma install go on Friday? What was your thoughts on the TV?

My Saturday install went sweet as Whistle but with a change or two

as i decided the get the separate 3.1 home cinema system (can be expanded to 5.1 or 7.1) and the panasonic stand thats made for the TV too

just need to tidy up the cables, but tonight its HANCOCK time Laughing

Nick,

You made a good choice - install was delayed until today, however basically this will be my next screen

Very impressed with the DVB and Freesat picture quality

just watching normal sky+ at the moment, as i need to run a extra cable from my dish for the freesat, and i can't get decent TV/Freeview due to some houses, a hill, and some large oak trees between me and my local tramsmitter Wink

the pictures depth is completely different to what i am used to Razz

with the blueray player i am gob smacked at the improvement it makes Cool seeing it in the shops never got me as a giddy as this Wink

Any recommendations on blue-ray movies to show it off

so far i have, Hancock, Cloverfield, 3:10 to Yuma, De Ja Vu, Ratatouille, & Wall-E

and have National Treasure 2, The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, Horton Hears A Who and Shine A Light as the blueray player came with a few freebies Very Happy
