Its a designed as an extened sales pitch, 1/2 hour chat, extended on road test followed by an off road taster,
However you can upgrade your package Rolling with laughter sorry maybe enhance is a better word Laughing The instructors asked my wife and i what we wanted to get from the day which was
1. get to know more about the car
2. understand the various off road controls
3. see what the car is capable
4 HAVE FUN Thumbs Up

This 'upgrade' cost me £99, after a brief chat followed by a brief blast on the tarmac the rest off the time was spent 'playing' off road with excellent instruction

With regard to passengers we were both encouraged to drive but if you all wanted to drive on the road you must all qualify (age, clean liscence etc)

You could try ringing the centre first and double checking on 01756749562

We also stopped over at the hotel very nice! Thumbs Up MY10 3.0 TDV6 HSE, Zermatt Silver, 20" Diamond Turned Alloys, Factory Privacy Glass, Premium Leather, Contrast Stiching, Side Steps, Etc

Cheers Ash,

I think I'll tell them what I want to get out of it is simply an off-road experience, skip the 30 min chat, skip the road test (seen as I will have just driven there in one Rolling Eyes ) and spend as much time as poss off road Very Happy

Maybe, but the chat is not about changing your vehicle more about how things work on it and in it, i found this very helpfull MY10 3.0 TDV6 HSE, Zermatt Silver, 20" Diamond Turned Alloys, Factory Privacy Glass, Premium Leather, Contrast Stiching, Side Steps, Etc

The extra cost upgrade to a full day is well worth paying the additional fee for too = more time for fun and if you go to the Dunkeld LRE that means going off over the mountains of the Blair Atholl Estates on the LRE's own special tracks.

BTW, if there are enough people who want to take part you can rent an LRE for the day and have it all to your own group, using your own cars. The D3 guys have run a couple of them up here and I ran a very successful day at Dunkeld for the Scottish members of the Freelander Club way back in 2003. If you don't want to do anything too exciting or damaging then a group day out at an LRE is a great way to see what your car can do and you also get instruction in your own car if you want. There are conditions and usually you have to have at least 10 cars to make
the outing viable. I think the best LRE I have (been on 5 of them now) is the one at the factory - it doesn't have vast grounds to play on but it has things like flights of stairs and balance bridges, elephants footprints etc to have great fun driving over in their brand new cars, that are not available at the other LREs! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

During our 'on road ' test
I learn't how to avoid the lag if you need a quick get away, using the manual gears gives better overtaking and if used correctly better economy and how a passenger can stop the vehicle in an emergency
Also how to engage low range/high range on the move and a little bit more about the braking system
all usefull Thumbs Up MY10 3.0 TDV6 HSE, Zermatt Silver, 20" Diamond Turned Alloys, Factory Privacy Glass, Premium Leather, Contrast Stiching, Side Steps, Etc
