United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black
more preheater problems.

I took a day off on Friday and noticed that there was a big puddle of diesel under the sport. it is running out of the preheater exhaust and splashing onto the p/s driveshaft and throwing it all the way to the rear of the jeep. Also the mpg has gone down by an average of 8mpg whilst it is working.
can anyone help me out with some suggestions?

many thanks
Ronnie

Despite the fact you called it a j**p, any fuel leak's going to be dangerous - I would be calling LRA if I were you.

Ronnie, it specifically ISN'T a Jeep is it, or it would say Jeep on the front. And if that was the case, you wouldn't be posting here would you? Wink

Light hearted fun-poking aside, if fuel's leaking - get LRA to come out and sort it out. I wouldn't be driving a car that I knew diesel was leaking out of Very Happy

sorry I was just out fox hunting and evicting tenant peasants from my out buildings to make room for my polo ponies over the winter!!

It looks like a metallic black brick on wheels and is great off road so I call it a jeep in the generic sense... Or as my wife calls it the "jeepie thing" When in Rome I suppose.

No it is only losing diesel when the pre heater is turned on so really I am not worried about it. I have it re-booked "the thing" in tomorrow to get sorted but they say they never have had this type of fault before. so I thought there might be someone here that may help other than upping post counts by trying to tell me what I should call it..

After all I also own a Lamborghini but when I tell people what I own I refer to it as the tractor!

Thumbs Up

I seem to recall on the D3 side there was an issue a long time ago (they don't like the term Jeep either!!) but a search through the forum might give you more luck.

Keep up the hunting btw Porsche Cayenne S Diesel 66 Plate

I've posted on the other pre-heater thread you have. Sounds to me like you have one problem causing both smoke and the diesel running from the exhaust. Cheers
