I'm not sure most franchised dealers use Glass's - don't they rely more heavily on CAP?

Scotland 2009 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Stornoway Grey

Parker's and What Car are consumer rags......and really have little relevance to reality.

Trade will talk about 'above or below book' value. The book being Glass's Guide.

I run a small fleet of cars, and residual values are very important. At the moment, for comic relief I check out how Porsche, Merc and BMW slip each month. They are really being hammered.

Unfortunately, the last few months it is all about Range Rovers......eye watering. 'Shocked' .

There is absolutely no substitute for a genuine lack of preparation.

TDV8 HSE MY10 with pretty much everything including a vase of daffs on the back shelf, tropical fish collection in the centre console, hamsters in the spare tyre and finally sheep on the passenger seats.....for weight distribution, what else??

No most if not all dealers now use FIA.

I think he meant 'f*** all interest', it just the dyslexia way of commenting on the current state of the motor industry! 'Cool' .

Although it may sound strange.....some good news on TDV8 values in December's Glass's Guide (let's not get into which is the most representative book)......the drop this month is £800 about 30% of last months!

Champagne all round! 'Razz'

Each to their own really. We use a combination of CAP and Glass's as they can differ dramatically. Generally speaking you would use CAP for vehicles being sent to auction or Glass's if you are buying to retil or selling to a trade contact. To be fair, we also look at the classifieds, franchised dealer web sites, BCA on-line etc etc to get a real view. Both are guides only as there is a big difference between a nice example and a not so nice example, and in addition colour combination and specification can make a big difference too.

.............. or alternatively we flip a coin!
