To the folks in a Java TDv6 that cruised with me on the M6

This afternoon I was "convoyed" by a Java TDv6 HSE with a family in it, most of the way from Cannock to Knutsford services on the M6..................... you overtook me north of Brum and then pulled in right in front of me and took photos (of the reg plate or the LED's in the headlights??). I pulled out to overtake you because you slowed to below 65 and really f Censored d up my adaptive cruise control which slammed on my brakes (thank you so much!) and nearly had the car behind me in my boot! Anyway you played chase most of the way from Cannock up to Knutsford where I pulled off into the services.
I think you were trying to get me to do some really silly speeds on a busy motorway but I didn't bite so you slowed down again and dropped in behind me and took more photos Thumbs Up Yes it really is a TDV8 and yes it CAN go faster than a TDv6 Rolling with laughter

In the last 3 days I've had a few other RRS's go whizzing passed - I tend to set the cruise to give me 70 (with the ACC I have to set it at 72 to show 70 on the speedo) then suddenly slow down to look at the LEDs in the headlights on my car. The FA57 (FAST) RRS plate also causes other RRS drivers to slow and look! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

It happens with the KMs calibrated ACC units too. I'm aware of it so it doesn't worry me, what I really don't like is the often very sudden braking that the computer causes when another car cuts in quite close, even if the other car is doing the same speed as me, it needs to be more gradual until the distance between the cars is as set. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

agreed it does brake harder than you would normally brake yourself.

out of interest do the brakelights come on when ACC autobrakes?

I had cruise control fitted to an MG Metro years ago and just by touching either the clutch or brake the brake lights would come on for a second whenever the cruise was disengaged. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
