England 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Bonatti Grey
New Owner

Hi,

After posting in this forum a month or 2 back i have finally taken the plunge! Im picking up my Bonetti Grey 2006 TDV6 HSE next week. cant wait! i was originally looking for an S or SE model but managed to stretch to a HSE when i saw it and realised how much kit they have. I think it will be worth the extra.

Bought from Landrover as an approved used vehicle as wanted the warranty and peice of mind! Hopefully i wont need to use it.

I was thinking of getting the supercharged grille and also controversially Khan RS-D alloys. Any thoughts on the wheels? will they invalidate the warranty?

Many Thanks, Thumbs Up

If they are bigger than 20", yes they will invalidate the warranty! Welcome to the club too. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Welcome M1KEY! The wheels won't automatically invalidate your warranty, but you need to be careful about reporting issues to your dealer that they could construe as being caused by the wheels. There's also the fact that they're not the most practical and that they're for footballers with no taste Wink

I really like the wheels i can't help it. I'm 21 so maybe taste comes with age Laughing

I could always swap them back if i needed to make a claim under warranty to do with suspension etc as long as the wheels won't damage the car i think im gonna go for it. 6 days and counting now!

Thumbs Up

Thanks everyone! Yes thats it in the picture, i have just had a thought! i was so caught up in moment of wanting the car! Shocked i didn't check the service history or check who the previous owners were etc. The dealer said they will service it this week before i pick it up and also said it had 2 previous owners but i didn't actually check anything!? i ususally do but as i say got a bit carried away. Should i do a HPI check on the car or not as its a Landrover Dealer? Also any other things i should be checking like warranty work carried out etc?

Bit late now as paperwork all signed! Embarassed Laughing

Thanks Thumbs Up

IIRC Land Rover approved used cars come with an HPI search anyway if they are within the scheme which I would imagine a 2006 car would. James will be able to let us know! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Thanks Tim yeah im sure its fine i mean thats why i went to a main dealer for the peace of mind im just being paranoid, would be good to hear from James though what checks the car has to go through to qualify for the approved used scheme.

Update on the wheels ive seen these: Bow down http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/22-HAWKE-SAKER-ALLOY...286.c0.m14

There is a member here who has those wheels on his HST. Willi Wonka I think. If you are serious about buying a set I can give you the contact details of Hawke Wheels in Luton as I was in there during the week having some work done on my car, but I wasn't buying wheels or tyres. That is their main business though - wheels and tyres.
Mikey before you buy any wheels for your Sport check that they have the right weight loading............ RRSport is a VERY heavy car and we have had posts on the forums showing wheels bought via ebay having cracked and not been all they were cracked up to be. There's a big market out there for fake wheels. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Cheers for the heads up i hadn't thought about the weight of the car but i will make sure i check before i buy definietly. I have had replica wheels in the past and they have all been fine........... however they weren't carrying a 3 ton RangeRover . I may just look for some genuine Stormers or something like that but i just like to the look of the 22"s. I need to pick up the car first really but getting carried away again Mr. Green

If you have a contact fot the hawke wheels that would be great Thumbs Up

thanks,
