Very poor service

Dear all

I thought I let you know the story of my new Range Rover Sport. I picked up my RR on 1st June the launch day of this new car and within a couple of weeks I had a very serious accident causing over £20,000.00 worth of damage. The car itself is a well built machine and probably saved my life - the service since the accident is probably the worst I've every had! The main problem is that Landrover never thought someone would have an accident within a very short time of the car being sold and as a result my approved Range Rover body shop was unable to obtain the computer software to diagnose the damage and parts that were needed for a repair. It took 3 weeks for the bodyshop to produce a handwritten diagnosis (not their fault) We are now coming to the end of August and only now have the bodyshop got most of the parts to repair my car and even some of these have had to be reordered because of damaged goods. Range Rover on their part have been very reluctant to lend me a car even though the delay in repairing my car is their fault, in the end they have given me a very small amount of money to rent a car which basically relates to a Ford Focus! Range Rover have no desire to help me as a customer in a situation that could have been prevented and I could be driving my nice new car instead of it sitting waiting to be repaired. I have been without my car for over 2 months now and the car is not expected to be returned for another 3 weeks.

I've had my moan I would be interested to hear what people think. :x :x :x :x http://homepage.mac.com/donfeatures/PhotoAlbum3.html

Ouch! Gruesome pictures of the wreck -- glad you came out of it unhurt. Dismaying to hear of your experience thus far. Please keep us posted as to how things progress... -QM

Poor service

Although I haven't crashed, the service from my dealer has been nothing short of disgusting. They don't know how to operate any of the cars systems, it was delivered without options fitted! God only knows what they done in the PDI as it had scratched paintwork and a hole in the leather back seat (which is still on back order!). No urgency whatsoever. Its spoiled the whole experience...... Crying or Very sad

It might be a good idea to post the name and location of these dealers.

Just as we would praise the good dealers, I think we can also shame the bad ones!! Malaysia Boleh!

Good to hear you survived the accident. While I do appreciate that you have waited for a long while for parts and have been without youre new car.
I do not think land rover should be supplying a courtesy car, this is why we pay insurance and it is usually down to the repairer or yourself to sort.
Parts for a new model like this will always be in short supply and pattern parts wont even be on the market yet. Its out there somewhere. Second V10 Treg on the drive at the moment.

My insurance would have supplied a loan car if I used their approved bodyshop - I wanted a Landrover approved bodyshop because I have belief that they would know what they are doing. The bodyshop for Landrover have only a 4 seater Kia and I have three kids and a wife! 5 into 4 does not go! I still believe Landrover should have diagnostic equipment, parts etc available from launch. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

I'm really sorry to hear of your bad luck, however, accidents can happen, such a shame though and I can only imagine how annoyed you were that your brand new car was damaged so much. I would be beside myself I'm sure.

I have been lucky enough to have had only one crash that was my fault, and I too had only had the car for 3 days, and it was my first trip out in it. (Lexus IS200) I span on some diesel on the M69 and stoved it into the central barrier. I was gutted. Lexus were no hlep and in the end it was all down to the insurance company to get me going etc. Luckily my company lent me a car to keep me on the move but the car was off the road for 2 months. I sold it not long afterwards, I didn't feel safe in it any longer.

If it's applicable I'm sure we'd all be interested to know some details of your accident in case any of the circumstances may have been due to the vehicle.

If it's any consolation, the issues with Land Rover not having the parts etc is not a new concept, BMW launched the new M5 at around the same time as the RRS and I know a few people who were due to have the running in service done at 1,200 miles (Warranty is void if this is not carried out!) and BMW had no oil filters!!!! Lot's of people's car were essentially forced not to be driven any longer until the shortage could be addressed.

How annoyed were they!

Keep us up to date and look forward to hearing some better news from you about your car. L319 D4 HSE

No problem with RRS

RRUK

Just to let you know there was no fault with the car - I was stationary at the time. The only annoying thing was as the car that hit me was approaching all I seem to remember is the parking sensors bleeping. I was then able to driver my car for 300 yards up my drive to my home and all sorts of warning lights, beep, bongs and messages were informing me that I had various problems with the car - fairly amusing being told that there is a suspension problem when the offside wheel is virtually hanging off! 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Of course you do realise that once your car is back and you are a happy RRS owner you will have to keep your current name Very Annoyed so we know who you are! L319 D4 HSE

I must admit though after looking at your photos, I would be very annoyed, upset, devastated. I could go on, hope it comes back to you soon.

PS, If it was mine the scroat who hit me would probably not be walking for a while = (big baseball bat to legs) Smile Its out there somewhere. Second V10 Treg on the drive at the moment.

Personally I woul'nt accept the delay by LR in getting your car repaired! They have every part in masses ( how do you think they produce them day in day out ) . Dont accept this as an excuse..... it is not a reasonable amount of time to take to repair a new car.

Get some names and write to the MD of LR.... complain.. ..complain.. complain...complain.. complain. Don't settle for less.
