I'm looking at getting an aftermarket Sat Nav unit for the RRS and was wondering if the following is a good alternative to a Tom Tom for street navigation. I would like the off road navigation function which is also included, but not if the on road side of the unit is not as good as the peers in the market as this is where it will get most use?

Hi 2nd Rower, some of the bods on the Australian 4wd forum seem to swear by the XL 488 Logicgear. With some frigging and no doubt some asking on the site you could also get help to install the hema off road maps as well

Some of the guys over on the Freel2 forums have been doing DIY Satnav installs to their cars, here is the latest budget system installed by one member using Sony kit. http://www.freel2.com/forum/topic2528.html
