Didn;t one guy get done, sending out 30,000 sam e-mails every hour from his back room. On that scale he only needed 1 or 2 percent to make several millions.

A sucker is born everyday!

Have you got the e-mail address?

JF, you may have fallen for it - if you opened the email you may have sent an automated reply back the sender to say your email account is active..............................................
That's one reason why you shouldn't reply to some of the weirder posts for performance enhancing drugs, porn etc that appear here, by posting a reply Martin gets deluged with spam. All you should do is click on the warning triangle in the top right of the post and report it as spam and the mods/admin will delete the post 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

We used to get quite a few of them but I think the host's antispam software catches them now although if you look at the "newest member" thing at the bottom of the home page you sometimes see "names" that are obviously spammers signing up.......................... 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

If 1 or 2 people out of every hundred believed the CEO of BP was cold emailing them to share £65m from excess oil sold.....I would be very worried for the state of this country!

one of my old office staff replied to a young nigerian lady who wanted help to get her inheritance out of her country.

She was very religious and thought she was help a genuine person Shocked

I had to close her email account, and resest a new one up to stop the spam she got

She also sent a letter to the queen as she saw a program about the navy having a satanic worshiper on one of the navys ships say she should be aware of them as they are evil

Told people she lived in a penthouse appartment which was actually a rented 1 bed flat above a travel agents

She didn't last for long Confused

There's an excellent record of one of these email scams recorded on the internet somewhere which went on for ages about a guy and his Asus laptops.... I'm forever getting these, but I must admit I've not seen apparently from a UK person. I expect Mr Inglis will be none too happy about this... BP used to be a client of mine in a previous life, I'll mention it to someone in their group IT function Thumbs Up

There's a group of paople on the internet who "bait" these scammers and play them at their own game. It's absolutely hilarious reading what they've put some of these idiots through. Have a look at
www.419eater.com
There are loads of stories/threads about how the conners get conned. Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter
I would strongly recommend that you don't try this yourself as some of these scammers can get nasty. Leave it to the "professionals".
