I would've gone with the Exige too, but you'll never find one for 12k (unless it's completely into the ground).

2008 Range Rover Sport TDV6 S Stornoway Grey

The Boxster is a great car - loved ours, we had a 2.7 and a 3.2 - fantastic drive, nice sound a very good all round package. Downside can be maintenance costs, my S had a rear oil seal go, which can be an expensive fix, some of the consumables arnt cheap either.

If I were looking for one for a weekend car / fun then i'd not buy one!!! I'd find myself a nice example of a VX220 or Turbo, as good as the elise (IMO of course), cheaper to maintain by a long way than the porsche as as much fun to drive, my mates is cracking fun.
