Got my car in for some work at the minute at Stratstones Bury (Lancs England)..third time it has been in the last month! In for a wheel wobble..Anyways last time I took it in the gave me a Freelander 2 manual...which was terrible,I told tham I have difficulty with manuals as I have a knee problem so could I have use of an automatic this time?
Dropped the car off on Monday and they gave me a FF TDV8 vogue as a loan car,only a thousand miles on the clock and was told I could use it till my problem was sorted!

I have wanted a Rangey since I was a kid but when I was in the position to aquire one I went for the sport as I preffered its styling and size,but I was very glad to have use of the loan car and use it for day to day running to get a proper feel for it.

My verdict on the Vogue ?

A bit smoother..more toys,the ICE is better....the camera is brilliant and the dash and general interior is much classier..but...
It is slower,dosn't handle as well..eats diesel and dosn't have the same road presence (IMO).

Looking forward to getting my Sport back! 19.1 mpg..who gives a fluck?

I think i would agree with some of it BigMat but not all I love the FFRR

BigMat, when you say smoother, I presume you mean ride quality but what were your thoughts on the engine?

A few on here have said the TDV8 is smoother and quieter in the RRS.

The ride is smoother not the engine! 19.1 mpg..who gives a fluck?

Having driven both I still prefer the sport, the Range Rover FFR is a very nice car, but I do prefer the sport, looks much nicer... Range Rover Sport HSE TDV6 - 08 Plate

Having owned both.................................................... they are not meant to appeal to the same markets, I loved my FFRR for what it was - a waft mobile with great towing and offroad ability, I love the RRS for what it is too, especially now it has the TDv8 under the bonnet. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

As a current owner of both, recently aquiring the Supercharged FFRR, i can honestly say the sport just doesnt compare, i love sports dont get me wrong but the fullfatrr is just in a different league!

All depends what you want from your car... the FFRR is leagues ahead in terms of trim/spec/luxury etc, but then doesn't work so well as a driver's car. Unless of course, your driving involves simply wafting along the road

As has been said on this forum many a time - if LR produced a car with the handling and looks of the RRS, with the FFRR interior and space it would have the perfect car (for those who wanted a 4x4, that is)

also suprised the ff drinks more as it is a little lighter than the sport,is it as fast?
