Funny that VW as I use Kaspersky (Bought and paid for) on our home PC and work laptop.

My mum used to have AVG but for some reason the guy who repaired her PC deemed it appropriate to replace it with Avast Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award

do what i do with my 85 year old grandad

let them get on with it, tell them to just use a online email program as these are often safer, and when he complains that his ink cartridges only last less than a month tell him to stop printing out A4 sized pictures of porn

Then do a complete reinstall when his computer stops working when he messes about with setting

I started of with AVGGrisoft free version and now my parents use it on both of their machines, and we have all changed over to their subscription "suite" of programmes. What I need now is an "elderly father" proof computer that he cannot fiddle with things or remove files that he needs to have to keep his system running. He also needs something to stop him putting every free disk that falls out of computer magazines into the DvD drive...... my mother never touches any settings, never tries to "clean out" files she thinks are unnecessary and never has any problems................................. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

My folks aren't too bad in that respect, they don't fiddle... it's the inlaws I have trouble with. I have found if you refuse to fix problems, it focuses their minds
